To ensure a proper fit for your motorhome air awning, there are three key measurements and considerations:

✅ 1. Fitment Height (Attachment Height)

This is the vertical distance from the ground to the awning rail or attachment point on your motorhome.

• Most air awnings are designed to fit within specific height ranges.
       (e.g. Low: 180–210cm, Standard: 235–250cm, Tall: 250–290cm).
• Measure on level ground and include any slope or levelling blocks you typically use.
• If your awning is too tall or too short for your rail height, it may not seal properly or could sag.

✅ 2. Awning Rail Length (Straight Rail Length)

This is the horizontal length of the straight section of your awning rail or gutter where the awning will attach.

• Measure only the straight, uninterrupted section—curved or sloped areas won’t support a proper seal.
• Ensure the awning’s width doesn’t exceed this length to avoid overhang or poor fit.

✅ 3. Attachment Method

Depending on your motorhome and awning type, you’ll need to choose the right connection method:

• Keder Bead (most common): Slides into a fixed awning rail or wind-out canopy.
• Velcro Straps or Webbing: Wrap around roof bars or gutters.
• Magnetic Strips or Suction Pads: Used for campervans or vehicles without rails.
• Drive Away Kits: Include a figure-of-eight strip and keder bead for easy detachment.

✅ 4. Door and Locker Position

Check the location of your habitation door, windows, and external lockers:

• Make sure the awning’s side panels or poles won’t block access.
• If your door opens outward, ensure it clears the awning roof or canopy.
• For drive away awnings, consider whether the tunnel entrance aligns well with your door.
