Approved Used Awnings FAQ

1. What does an approved used means?
Awnings we advertise as “Approved Used”, go through a rigorous process of on ground 40 point inspection where we look over the condition of the awning canvass, frame and accessories and produce a full report.

2. What do we look out for?
This includes a Full frame checkover. Inspection where we check over, connector clamps and pole adjusters and make sure the frame is complete and fully functional.

3.What about AiR Awnings?
For AiR Awnings we check over valve connectors and air test the frame by monitoring pressure fluctuations within the individual tubes for potential air leaks. In cases where w e detect those, the awning is assigned for full frame testing and. If leaks are found, this enables us to isolate and replace the inflatable tube and connector valve to restore frame functionality.

4. Awning canvass inspection includes a full checkover of zips, connection stitching and condition of the reinforced points of the awning. We inspect the condition of the keder beading , canopy support points, fly-screens, mud walls, general conditions of the roof, etc.

5. Fabric condition: During this process we inspect the condition of the fabrics, panel stitching, clarity of the windows, condition of the ventilation points and functionality of the zips.

6. Overall condition report:Our approved used awnings are sold with 30 – 90 day StandArt Guarantee and will always include a full comprehensive report of the condition, approximate age and origin.

7. Condition Grading:
*Brand New Awnings in original retail packaging, sold with 1 or 2 years standard manufacturer warranty, equipped with standard accessories pack (curtains, draft skirt, peg down kit).

*Ex demo models. Awnings that have been used, for example as a display models from a show or indoor or outdoor showroom. These awnings would have superficial signs or marks and are typically sold with 6 months manufacturer warranty. You can expect to save between 15-20% of the RRP price.

*Tried on Van awnings, sold with 6 Months Stand Art Product warranty. Awnings which customers have returned due to a wrong size being chosen. These awnings would have been unpackaged and tried on vehicle and retuned. The awnings frame and accessories would be brand new. The canvass might have grass marks or dust signs and rock pebbles, as these are typically been folded back on the campsite.

*Approved Used Awnings: Why buy approved used? Buying an awning for your caravan or motorhome is an expensive purchase, with most decent quality awnings priced well into the thousand pound mark. We have created a custom grading for our Approved Used Awnings Range, which represent the overall condition.

*Grade A1 awnings typically less than 3 years old* (with exception of premium brands) which are in pristine condition with full standard accessories pack, reproofed and ready for immediate use. These awnings may have slight or barely noticable marks once erected, please reffer to the individual awning condition report. Sold with 3 months StandArt Guarantee.

*Grade A2, A3, A4 Awnings over 3 years old, professionally inspected, where there are minor to moderate signs of use. These awnings will be Fully functional, equipped and ready for immediate use. These awnings may have signs of dust or dirt, moderate signs of use or cosmetic imperfections. The awning would be fully functional and are typically sold with 30-90days StandArt Product Guarantee.

Grade B1/2/3/4 are awnings typically sold to trade clients or designated for export. These are generally not available to the end consumer, over 10 years old or with various problems or repairs required.

*TOP TIP! We would always recommend to include your newly purchased awning in your caravan insurance policy and retain a copy of your purchase invoice. This would ensure you can reimburse most of the cost of repairing or replacing your awning, if the damage has occured due to weather conditions or as a result of fire or incorrect pitching.
