A full caravan awning, also called a traditional caravan awning, is an awning that attaches to the full length of your caravan awning rail. This creates a completely enclosed area, essentially doubling the living space of your caravan . It is a preferred choice for caravaners, who want utilise maximum space on their adventures or on their seasonal pitch, and available in poled (framed) versions and ones with inflatable beams, also called AIR awnings. 

Full caravan awnings are sized based on the A-measurement of your caravan, or the distance from the ground at the front of your caravan, around the awning rail, and back down to the ground at the rear. Most awning manufacturers use a unified size chart, based on size 4-22, covering lengths of 725-1200cm. 
Caravan manufacturers list the A measurement in the caravan handbook or technical specifications charts. Getting this measurement right is crucial for easy pitching, proper tension, and long-term durability. Both options have their advantages depending on how you use your caravan:
